When I eat out, I tend to think the dining environment is just as important as the the quality of service as well as the food. When a restaurant nails all three, it truly is something special.
Beautiful space, delightfully heartwarming service, and the food…oh the food. So simple, yet so well made. It definitely shows the passion of the owner and team behind this cozy little place. The combination of flavours, and the freshness of the all the plated ingredients, I was practically licking my plate clean at the end of the breakfast.
The sausage platter consisted of (as I was told,) local goodies from the butchers and the farms. The biscuit that was freshly made in-house was definitely “to die for” calibre. The biggest surprise though were the english beans. There was none of that ‘canned bullshit’ to be found here! Fresh tomato sweetness, and perfectly cooked, I could not stop eating them even though I am not normally a fan of this traditional dish. Everything worked so well together, and when sandwiched between the flakey biscuit, I almost said a little prayer to thank the breakfast gods for letting me find this eatery in the first place! (Shout out Yelp lol.)
The comforting grilled cheese filled with peppers and salami showcased the essence of flavourtown. (Yes, Guy Fieri reference lol) It was sweet, tangy, had a slight kick to it, and the sandwich produced a perfect crunch as a serious grilled cheese should!!
I seriously can’t wait to be back here (@ Dock Lunch) to try their small curated menu which switches up daily. Come early, come hungry, and I swear you wont be disappointed. (I almost wanted to keep this place all to myself cause I know it’s probably going to blow up and have lines around the block. But it’s too good not to be shared!)
